An important problem Manhunt 2 has its it doesn’t understand what game it would like to feel, will it want to be a stealth games or a 3rd people player? Spoilers, it’s the latter. While Manhunt 1 performed posses shooting included and unfortuitously a large amount of it’s degree put shooting, it never strayed from the it’s major center auto mechanic. Stealth. Manhunt 2 having said that doesn’t feel like a Manhunt game, they feels as though an undesirable people’s GTA with amped assault and executions.
The main gimmick that Manhunt 1 was actually mainly noted for was it’s executions, here it really works the same which includes new things nevertheless now it offers a minigame of types. It’s intent in my opinion is always to simulate how main character would perform their opposition but you also carrying it out. Although this could work they quickly wears away for 2 reasons. (luckily you can easily disable it)
Its repetitive & most importantly, they lacks framework. The executions in Manhunt 1 worked considering the context given, you were perhaps not killing folks in gruesome methods simply. Because. Manhunt 2 provides no reason as to the reasons you should perform much more violently or otherwise not apart from reaching increased score.
