Therefore my personal real question is this: do I need to put it to use every possibility I get?

I ask because I’m not sure if the credit card or an Automatic Teller Machine withdrawal will offer me a significantly better conversion rate.

That's the reason why i personally use my USAA cards each time i’m in European countries (and leave my personal British Airways card in the home). USAA does not add any money transformation costs to overseas deals, simply Mastercard (and charge) would charge a charge of one’s own, frequently one percent, and there is no making your way around that charge regardless of whoever charge card you will be using.

ATMs and credit cards both provide industrial money conversion rates as opposed to the merchandising prices that you’d bring from a revenue change providers (a "bureau de change", basically French for "rip off of the tourist"). So the money rate of conversion is amongst the same.

With an ATM cards your probably will probably pay a $2 or $3 charge from the bank for each deal (unless traditional USAA will be your bank and additionally they don't demand this fee either). That could or might not be not as much as the financing card fee implemented by VISA or Mastercard. hinges on the quantity of the purchase.
